    Priscilla,

These are the VRA Core fields that I know are used as extensions to the MODS records in SobekCM. Mark, please chime in if I missed anything!

    Cultural context
    Inscription
    Material
    Measurements
    State/edition
    Style/period
    Technique

The Wolfsonian – FIU instance is mostly just making use of material and measurements from the legacy records although I think we’ll eventually be making more use of the inscription and technique fields (those are currently not separated from the free-text description in our database)

The mappings I care most about are mapping Material and Measurements to the DC:Format

If you are feeling generous it would be nice for Inscription to map to DC:Description preceded by “inscription” since that often contains valuable search-worthy data (or it will once we clean up our records).

I suppose it’s possible that some one of our institutions will be using complete VRA Core and that we’d need to consider mapping the various title, creator etc. fields from that to DC. I don’t know for a fact, but I suspect that the good old LoC has a perfectly good stylesheet for that too.
